Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1

Arrival at Bilbao Airport. We’ll drive together to our cozy hotel and settle in before the real work begins - that same evening we head out for our first shoot at a location that fans of Game of Thrones will recognise immediately. A strong start to the week!

Day 2 Day 2

We’re up before dawn for a sunrise session at a beautiful spot near the hotel. After breakfast, we hit the road - three hours east brings us to one of the most unexpected locations in all of Spain: the largest semi-desert in Europe! Most people don’t even know it exists. Photographers who’ve been there don’t forget it.

Day 3 Day 3

We catch sunrise in the Navarra desert - the light here in the early morning is extraordinary. Then we make our way back toward Bilbao, ending the day at one of the most dramatic geological formations in the region: the “dragon’s back” rock at sunset. It looks exactly as impressive as the name suggests.

Day 4 Day 4

Today we photograph a famous beach forest - a genuinely unusual landscape that rewards patience and a good eye for composition. If the famous Spanish coastal fogs roll in, consider yourself lucky - they transform everything. We finish the day at a spectacular beach as the sun goes down.

Day 5 Day 5

We move into the Asturias region, where the Atlantic coastline gets wilder and the seascapes more dramatic. The evening ends with a walk through the charming fishing town of Cudillero - one of those places that looks like it was designed to be photographed.

Day 6 Day 6

Silencio Beach. The name says it all. One of the most famous beaches in Asturias, known for its extraordinary rock formations and incredible natural textures. We’ll spend serious time here - there’s no rushing a location like this.

Day 7 Day 7

Our final full day on the coast takes us to Playa de Catedrales - Cathedral Beach - where the rock arches and sea caves are unlike anything most photographers have ever worked with. Low tide reveals the full drama of the place. Plan your shots, take your time.

Day 8 Day 8

Spain has a way of making you want to stay longer. After a final sunrise shooting and breakfast together, we make our way back to Bilbao Airport. Another good trip - and if the pattern holds, probably not the last one we’ll share.

Oleg Rest

Oleg Rest

My name is Oleg Rest, I am a professional landscape photographer and traveler. I was born in Kazakhstan, the land of steps and severe climate. Since early childhood I was dreaming of traveling. I first took camera in my hands at 6, when my parents rented a Zenit film camera during our holidays on the Black Sea coast. I enthusiastically took pictures of my parents, later with my father we developed films in our bathroom and dried them on a rope. Now I shoot with a modern camera Canon R5, but nature and photography still inspire me the most. I have been to such amazing places as Patagonia, Norway, Iceland, Tuscany, Namibia, Slovenia, China, Moravia, the Alps and the Lofotens, Myanmar, Czech Switzerland and I wish to share my impressions and delight with you! Life is full of beauty. This is my motto. I am not a fan of sophisticated and time-consuming processing of photos. The best shot for me is the one that needs minimal processing. My main principles in photography are: Interesting composition Beautiful light Minimum of processing Nowadays it is hard to find a location where no photographer has ever been, that is why even in popular places I try to find an unusual foreground which makes any shot look in a new light. I have won several landscape photography competitions. My photos are published by Canon Czech Republic, Canon Ukraine. I am an ambassador of Lucroit filter manufacturer (Spain), H&Y (Hong Kong), software company Skylum (Luminar, Aurora HDR software) and backpack manufacturer f-stop (USA).
