ABOUT ME
Hello guys!
My name is Oleg Rest – a professional landscape photographer, traveler, and photo tour guide based in Prague, Czech Republic.
I was born in Kazakhstan, a land of vast steppes and harsh beauty. From early childhood, I dreamed of traveling the world. My first encounter with photography came at age six, when my parents rented a Zenit film camera during a holiday on the Black Sea coast. I eagerly photographed everything around me – and later, my father and I would develop the film together in our bathroom, hanging the strips to dry on a rope. That magic never left me.
Today I shoot with a professional Canon camera, travel across four continents, and lead intimate photography tours to some of the most breathtaking locations on Earth – Patagonia and Norway, Iceland and Tuscany, the Lofoten Islands and Saudi Arabia, Namibia and Antarctica, Scotland and the Czech landscape I now call home.
My philosophy is simple: the best photograph is one that needs minimal processing.
I believe in three principles: interesting composition, beautiful light, and restraint in post-production.
My work has been recognised in international competitions including OneEyeLand, Siena International Photo Awards, NY Photography Awards, Epson Pano Awards, 35photo and many ohers.
