About the Tour

The Lofoten islands (Norway) is one of those places that you must see at least once in your life with your own eyes. Majestic cliffs, beautiful fjords, authentic fishing villages with red fishermen's cabins, snow covered peaks, beaches full of exquisite patterns and - you will be definitely surprised - turquoise water! Lofoten is one of those places where you can watch (and, of course, photograph) the most fascinating and beautiful natural phenomenon - the northern lights!

Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1

We meet at Leknes airport (I recommend you Oslo-Bodo-Leknes flight) and then head to our beautiful hotel. After check-in we have welcome dinner and the opportunity to get to know each other.

Day 2 Day 2

We spend morning photographing in Hamnoy, a small but unbelievably beautiful old fishing village, surrounded by the sea, fjords and mountains. After rest and lunch we visit one more small picturesque village - Nusfjord, which is hidden in a small harbor between towering fjords.

Day 3 Day 3

For sunrise we have iconic Reine village, the hallmark of the Lofoten Islands. This village has earned the reputation of one of the most photographed places in the world. After a walk in the village, we have lunch in a stylish cafe with stunning views. In the evening we go hunting for the northern lights.

Day 4 Day 4

In the morning we photograph in the Sakrisoy area. We need to hike up the hill (10-15 minutes), but don't worry - we'll be rewarded by breathtaking views from the top. Be sure to take crampons with you, it can be slippery on ice and snow. In the evening we go exploring the legendary Skagsanden beach, which is extremely reach in intricate patterns on the sand created by nature and weather.

Day 5 Day 5

After sunrise photography session in a "secret" place, we move to Leknes. There are several amazing locations in the area to shoot the northern lights. In the afternoon we visit the famous football stadium surrounded by fjords and mountains and have lunch in a cozy traditional restaurant. We meet sunset at Uttakleiv beach. The mixture of whimsical rocks and sand on the beach, the view towards the mountains and the ocean make this beach especially attractive for us as photographers. This beach is a perfect place to shoot the northern lights.

Day 6 Day 6

In the morning we go shooting one of the frozen lakes, nested between snowcapped mountains. On this day you need a wide-angle lens, we will look for fancy ice textures and use them as a foreground. After lunch, we go to the famous beach with surfers, where, if we are lucky, we will also shoot lady Aurora.

Day 7 Day 7

This morning we explore the eastern fjords, visit Vareid beach and one more fishing village, where we can buy local souvenirs and presents. The location for the evening photography session is beautiful white sand Haukland Beach.

Day 8 Day 8

This is the last day of the tour. After breakfast we say goodbye to each other and the Lofoten Islands. I recommend you Leknes-Bodo-Oslo flight.

Oleg Rest

Oleg Rest

My name is Oleg Rest, I am a professional landscape photographer and traveler. I was born in Kazakhstan, the land of steps and severe climate. Since early childhood I was dreaming of traveling. I first took camera in my hands at 6, when my parents rented a Zenit film camera during our holidays on the Black Sea coast. I enthusiastically took pictures of my parents, later with my father we developed films in our bathroom and dried them on a rope. Now I shoot with a modern camera Canon R5, but nature and photography still inspire me the most. I have been to such amazing places as Patagonia, Norway, Iceland, Tuscany, Namibia, Slovenia, China, Moravia, the Alps and the Lofotens, Myanmar, Czech Switzerland and I wish to share my impressions and delight with you! Life is full of beauty. This is my motto. I am not a fan of sophisticated and time-consuming processing of photos. The best shot for me is the one that needs minimal processing. My main principles in photography are: Interesting composition Beautiful light Minimum of processing Nowadays it is hard to find a location where no photographer has ever been, that is why even in popular places I try to find an unusual foreground which makes any shot look in a new light. I have won several landscape photography competitions. My photos are published by Canon Czech Republic, Canon Ukraine. I am an ambassador of Lucroit filter manufacturer (Spain), H&Y (Hong Kong), software company Skylum (Luminar, Aurora HDR software) and backpack manufacturer f-stop (USA).
