Madeira is a truly extraordinary island, where within the span of a single week you can encounter all the seasons of nature.
From blooming flowers and lush greenery to misty mornings in the legendary Fanal Laurisilva Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the island constantly transforms before your eyes.
Snow-capped mountain peaks, hidden waterfalls, and dramatic Atlantic seascapes create endless photographic possibilities.
Beyond the landscapes, Madeira offers outstanding cuisine and charming, authentic villages that reveal the island’s rich character.
All this - and much more - awaits the participants of my unique photography tour to Madeira 25-31 October 2027!
Day 1
On this day, I will meet you at Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport in Funchal, after which we will head to our hotel in a comfortable minivan.
In the evening, we will enjoy a relaxed walk through the capital of the island, getting our first impressions of Madeira.
We will then gather for dinner at a local restaurant, where we will discuss the tour program and get to know each other in a warm, informal atmosphere.
Day 2
We will start this day early in the morning, as one of Madeira’s most spectacular viewpoints awaits us.
A scenic hike will lead us to an unforgettable location, offering breathtaking views and exceptional photographic opportunities. We will end the day on the opposite side of Ponta de São Lourenço, where we will meet the sunset.
Dramatic landscapes and epic views are guaranteed!
Day 3
On this day, we will visit Madeira’s two highest peaks — Pico Ruivo and Pico do Arieiro.
Be prepared to capture truly spectacular mountain landscapes, with dramatic ridgelines, clouds, and ever-changing light.
Day 4
On this day, we will move to our new hotel located right on the oceanfront.
Beautiful images can be captured directly from your balcony, with sweeping views of the Atlantic.
In the evening, we will head out for a photo session at one of Madeira’s most beautiful beaches, famous for its dramatic cliffs and epic coastal scenery.
Day 5
Today we finally head to what is perhaps the most iconic location on Madeira — the legendary Fanal Forest.
This ancient laurel forest is part of the Laurisilva of Madeira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its mystical atmosphere and unique landscapes.
We will spend hours wandering through the forest, discovering new compositions, twisted trees, and ever-changing scenes shaped by light and fog.
If weather conditions allow, we will also have the opportunity to practice photographing the Milky Way in this truly magical place.
Day 6
On this day, we will set out on a walk along what is considered the most beautiful levada on Madeira.
Not sure what a levada is? Then this tour is definitely for you.
Breathtaking views, waterfalls, mountains, and tunnels carved into the rock turn this walk into a true adventure and an unforgettable photographic experience.
Day 7
This is our final day on the warm and welcoming island of Madeira.
After a morning photo session and breakfast, we will head to Funchal Airport, where it will be time to say goodbye — and hopefully, see each other again on future photographic journeys
P.S. During our photography tour we might adjust our plan due to weather conditions.

Oleg Rest
My name is Oleg Rest, I am a professional landscape photographer and traveler. I was born in Kazakhstan, the land of steps and severe climate. Since early childhood I was dreaming of traveling. I first took camera in my hands at 6, when my parents rented a Zenit film camera during our holidays on the Black Sea coast. I enthusiastically took pictures of my parents, later with my father we developed films in our bathroom and dried them on a rope. Now I shoot with a modern camera Canon R5, but nature and photography still inspire me the most. I have been to such amazing places as Patagonia, Norway, Iceland, Tuscany, Namibia, Slovenia, China, Moravia, the Alps and the Lofotens, Myanmar, Czech Switzerland and I wish to share my impressions and delight with you! Life is full of beauty. This is my motto. I am not a fan of sophisticated and time-consuming processing of photos. The best shot for me is the one that needs minimal processing. My main principles in photography are:
Interesting composition
Beautiful light
Minimum of processing
Nowadays it is hard to find a location where no photographer has ever been, that is why even in popular places I try to find an unusual foreground which makes any shot look in a new light. I have won several landscape photography competitions. My photos are published by Canon Czech Republic, Canon Ukraine. I am an ambassador of Lucroit filter manufacturer (Spain), H&Y (Hong Kong), software company Skylum (Luminar, Aurora HDR software) and backpack manufacturer f-stop (USA).
